- Lima's Civic & Convention Center

The Blue Caboose is owned and managed by the Lima-Allen County Convention & Visitors Bureau and staffed by nearly 30 volunteers. These Tourism Specialists give their time, enthusiasm, and knowledge to welcoming visitors to Lima and Allen County by providing local, state, and regional information and printed materials for inquisitive travelers. The Caboose is open seasonally from the end of May to Labor Day.

Collett Street Recreation Area

Collett Street, south of Northshore Drive across from Hover Park, Lima

Soccer fields (3), ball diamonds (2), tennis courts (8), shuffleboard courts, multi-purpose areas, restrooms, picnic tables, bike rental (call 419-221-5195), drinking fountain, bleachers, and parking areas. The Rotary Riverwalk is a 5.1 mile paved hike and bike trail beginning at the Collett Street Recreation Area and continuing on to Heritage Park on Reed Road. You can also start at the Collett Street Recreation Area and walk east to Downtown Lima.

Hover Park

Collett and Kibby Streets, Lima

Soccer fields (2), bleachers, shuffleboard courts, basketball court, shelter houses (2), multi-purpose area, picnic tables, playground, restrooms, drinking fountain, formal gardens, and parking areas. There is .9 mile paved walking and bike path around the lake, and extension of the River Walk. The BP soccer fields and ball diamond are near Hover Park on E. Vine Street.

Ottawa River Corridor

The end of the Rotary River Walk, adjacent to the Collett Street tennis courts, following along the river to Central Avenue. It features 1.2 miles of a lighted and paved path for hiking, biking or roller blading.

Allen County Farm Park

1 mile east of I-75 on SR 81 at Slabtown Road; acreage: 63

Open by reservation only.
Large, 40x80 renovated barn; horseshoe courts, volleyball, open play field, play equipment and water and restroom facilities.

Hayrides are offered in the autumn. A 2.6 mile bridle trail is now open to the public, daylight hours only.

Deep Cut Historical Park

One mile south of Spencerville on SR 66

Hiking access to the Miami-Erie Canal Towpath, picnic shelter, tables and drinking water.

The Miami-Erie Canal Corridor Authority encompasses a 43-mile section of the Miami-Erie Canal. This section extends approximately 12 miles to the north of Deep Cut and 31 miles south of Deep Cut. The canal towpath is currently accessible and available for hiking. Improvements are currenly underway to enhance this 43 mile section.

Ft. Amanda State Memorial

Logan Township, Auglaize County, .25 miles south of Ft. Amanda Road on SR 198.

One reservable shelter house, large wooded picnic area, tables, grills, water, restrooms, .5 mile hiking trail, fishing access to the Auglaize River, War of 1812 Monument.

Features: 3 reservable shelters, large picnic area with tables and grills, 1 acre fishing pond, 2 miles of hiking/cross country skiing trails, 1 kilometer paved hiking/biking trail (connected to the Rotary River Walk), water and restroom facilities, hrseshoe pit and volleyball.

Kendrick Woods Metro Park

10 miles west of Lima, 1/2 mile north of SR 81 on Defiance Trail; acreage: 218

3 reservable shelter houses, large picnic area with tables and grills, 1.25 acre fishing pond, nature trails, 1/3 mile "All Peoples Trail" (boardwalk), Kiracofe Prairie Restoration Project, wetlands area and State of Ohio Designated Nature Preserve.

1 mile northeast of SR 81 on North Dixie Highway;

Features: 2 reservable shelters, large picnic area with tables and grills, 2 fishing ponds, 2 miles of hiking/cross country skiing trails, 1/2 mile Braille Discovery Trail, water and restroom facilities, volleyball and horseshoes.

Ottawa Metro Park

1.5 miles east of I-75 on SR 81; acreage: 214

89 acre lake for non-gas powered boats and fishing, boat ramp, handicap fishing deck, 3 reservable shelters, restrooms, swimming beach, and camping. Family and group camping.

Rotary Riverwalk

From Collett Street Recreation Area in the City of Lima to Heritage Park on Reed Road (south of Lima).

A 4.2 mile hiking/biking trail along the Ottawa River connecting a city park to a metro park.
