- Lima's Civic & Convention Center

The Blue Caboose is owned and managed by the Lima-Allen County Convention & Visitors Bureau and staffed by nearly 30 volunteers. These Tourism Specialists give their time, enthusiasm, and knowledge to welcoming visitors to Lima and Allen County by providing local, state, and regional information and printed materials for inquisitive travelers. The Caboose is open seasonally from the end of May to Labor Day.

This New Year's Eve, escape from sharks and raptors, fall in love with a superhero, swell wit the pride of nations and have a close encounter with a five-time Oscar winner. Celebrate John Williams' most memorable score, including classic pieces of suspense and optimistic themes that overwhelm you with heartfelt joy. With the theme from Jaws, synonymous with danger, the spine tingling chills of Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Jurassic Park, the hauntingly expressive themes from Memoirs of a Geisha and Angela's Ashes or the noble and majestic Olympic Fanfare, this concert will entertain and delight.

March with lions, waltz with elephants and enjoy tortoises doing the Can Can during this delightful family concert in which animals do the impossible, the improbable, and the absolutely entertaining. Featuring Saint-Saens bouncy Carnival of the Animals, familiar tunes such as How Much is That Doggy in the Window and Turkey in the Straw, and the always captivating Pink Panther, with special appearances by some intriguing animal friends.

The Spirit of Spring
In the grand finale of the season, we will pair the lighthearted and lovely Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 and Schubert's mysterious Symphony No. 8 in B minor with the soaring and intricate Mass in C Minor by Mozart.

Allen County Memorial Hall

The Allen County Memorial Hall was originally erected in 1908 as a war memorial building to honor the local members of the Grand Army of the Republic (Union veterans of the Civil War). Its lobby is adonrned in marble and terrazzo, and is one of the most striking and beautiful architectural accomplishments in the area. It serves as the meeting spot for many veterans, auxiliaries, patriotic groups, and is also available for rental. The main floor and balcony combined can hold up to 1000 persons; the Armstrong Room will hold as many as 100 in a lecture-style arrangement. The recently renovated Alma Gallery hosts outstanding visual arts exhibits. ACMH is regularly used by community and professional organizations as a venue for a variety of entertainers, art shows, craft shows, wedding receptions, and high school proms.

Artspace/Lima

Contemporary art has a home in the Victorian-era mercantile building renovated by ArtSpace/Lima on Town Square in the heart of downtown Lima. There's always something new in the changing gallery exhibitions featuring local and regional artists working in all media. In the Gallery Shoppe, original artwork including paintings, jewelry, ceramics, glass, and cards by the area's most respected artists is on display as well as other unique art replicas. Many art enrichment classes, workshops, and special events are offered throughout the year for art-lovers of all ages. Check their website for hours of operation.

Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center

The VMCCC stands in Lima's Town Square and is the hub of the community's cultural life. The VMCCC has a 15,000 square foot subdividable Exhibit Hall and ten meeting rooms on the north end, all with full A/V support.
On the south end of the complex is the Crouse Performance Hall (CPH), a state-of-the-art, 1800-seat facility. The CPH is aesthetically beautiful, acoustically superb and can handle events from the simplest lecture to the most complex stage show. It is the performance home for the Lima Symphony Orchestra, and the Lima Area Concert Band. The Hall has hosted Broadway and professional touring companies, Sesame Street Live, illusionist David Copperfield, and a variety of theatre, concert, dance and lecture events.
The facility is conveniently located in downtown Lima and is connected to the Wingate Inn and a new parking garage accessible by a skywalk: a total conference package!
